Well, it took (a way two long) two seconds to say "Of course!," and within minutes we were off on a 12-mile sleigh ride down a river at its fullest (almost 3,000 cfs...still!!). Attached are photos taken along the very fast way that tell the story of why we love it so much here and why we anxiously await your arrival(s), starting in just 72 hours now.
Feast your eyes on (a) an almost 12" wide oyster mushroom that we spotted along the way and bagged, along with over five pounds of its companion fungi and, on my end, a wonderful rainbow and brown trout each caught on a streamer, by the way, (b) the massiveness of otherwise meek and mild Rock Creek (where, instead of speeding along at over 10 mph, we pulled over for some sight fishing), (c) America's (appropriate) symbol, a bald eagle (perched in his roost just a mile downstream from HQ), and (d) evidence of the abundant salmon fly hatch (can you differentiate the real one from the one that I tied??!).
In just a few days, scenes like these are going to be in your present as you are in our presence. Until then, may visions of oyster mushrooms, rivers, eagles and salmon flies be in your dreams, both conscious and unconscious!!
Best to all from the scene of it all,
Rock Creek Ron
