Well the Fourth of July Bash here at Extravaganza World HQ is quieting down, giving Der Blog a chance to catch Der Breath.

A delightful time was had by all, with the highlights being the whole pig that was roasted out front by Jeff Freeman, and the annual Casting Contest.

That's the whole hog:


See those delicious deviled eggs? I didn't know they were off limits and ate two. Kathy kicked me out of the kitchen.

Competition was fierce in the casting contest, with 20 participants quickly being whittled down to 6 finalists, who all hit the 50 foot mark in the first round.

The final round saw the competitors shooting for a hula hoop some 75 feet away! I'd like to see the mend on that cast! The victory went to the Grizzly Hackle's own Dave Huffman, who was the only one to hit this miniscule target at such a great distance. Congratulations to all the competitors and to our champion David Huffman!

It wasn't all fun and games out there today, we were fishing hard all day long! However, because of the festivities, there were no boat reports, and the only fish pictures I have came from my boat. You know what that means!
