A Fun Group Four Intramural Week!

It was an Extravagant week last week for several members of the Fraternal Order of Group Four.

First of all, joining IWFF's Executive Director Janet Rose at the (stupendous) exclusive (as in no one else is going to publicly see the spell-binding footage that we saw that nite) unveiling of Snow Leopard activity in Pakistan, were Group Four veterans Ann and Larry Klaustermeier and rookies Chad Overway and Jeanne Montague.  The Lark Theater preview was preceded by a party hosted by (who else, but) the Hostess With The Mostess at the Left Bank where the stars of the show (exclusive of the two live mountain lions that were on stage that evening, that is) joined us and learned from us what WE do in the wilds of Montana.

Afterwards, at the end of the show, (y)our Hostess With The Mostess won the Grand Prize in event's lottery--two all event and party-included Delegate passes to the 2008 International Wildlife Film Festival in Missoula, Montana (yes, she knew where that was), one of which we gave to our Extravaganza 2008 film producer, Jeanne Rawlings [forever endearing her to us, by the way] for her use during the May film festival.

Not to be sated by the sogginess of it all (it was pouring cats and dogs that Thursday night), Larry and Ann had the four of us leoparders over to their smashing Novato abode the ensuing Saturday night and, upon our arrival, the attached pics show what there was had to greet us:  "Horse.... Larry" in full prayerful homage to the Shrine of the Extravaganzas that he has erected in his newly remodeled family room (right next to his football field sized flat screen).  Close visage will depict (a) his hard earned yellow hat; (b) photos of his big fish from each of the last four years; (c) his Montana stainless steel letter holder; (c) our monogrammed creel and (not shown) (d) his gel candle, but which was burning proudly on the nearby kitchen counter.

Now THAT'S the Extravaganza spirit!!

Further Group Four sightings were found on the San Rafael Civic Center ponds earlier that Saturday morning where Group Four rookies Peter Pelham and Michael Besselievre (try spelling that three times quickly!) were found having personal casting instructions from Rock Creek Ron himself (in the course of which in the dim early morning hours RCR stepped on and smashed the end section of his new Winston BIIX rod--thanks for lifetime warranties on that end!). After three chilly hours, Michael and then Peter got their casting game on and then the (perpetual) rains arrived, blessedly bring an end to Peter and Michael's torture.

What fun!
